I'm having one of those days when a random 5, 95, even the calculator seem to be making more of themselves. Is it the heat or are they trying to tell me something and why am I not getting it. 

 

little iron gates

I have a thing for little iron gates. Sometimes I just can't go past one without taking a quick pic. Here's a cutie I passed down the coast last week.

night time caffeine, yes, yes or a no no

You know you are getting old when you can't convince anyone at your dinner party to have a short black with a little shot of grappa, and you are even older once they refuse the cafe lattes too.

The magic carpet

The in-laws came by with about 50 shoots of some type of drought-proof grass. They went crazy digging holes, burying off-cuts. They assure me it will take over. It will be thick, padded (great for cartwheels) and best of all green though summer, even with limited water. No more dustbowls. Grass is great.
